PCBBE 2027 will take place at the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Krakow, in building B-8 on the university’s main campus. The campus is a short walk from Kraków’s historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Between sessions, participants can easily reach the Main Market Square, Wawel Castle and the city’s many cafés and restaurants.
The faculty’s research and teaching centre has modern, well-equipped lecture halls and seminar rooms. Poster sessions, exhibitions and coffee breaks will take place in dedicated spaces at the venue, giving participants plenty of room for informal discussions and networking. With its contemporary interiors and lively academic atmosphere, it is an ideal setting for an international scientific meeting.
Kraków
Kraków is Poland’s former royal capital and one of Europe’s most beautiful historic cities. Its Old Town, with the Main Market Square and Wawel Royal Castle, was among the first sites to be added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city is also one of Poland’s leading academic centres, home to the Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364, and to AGH University of Krakow, with tens of thousands of students who keep its streets young and lively. Beyond the Old Town, visitors can explore the atmospheric Kazimierz district, enjoy the city’s vibrant food and café scene, or take a short trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. In June, long summer evenings and a busy calendar of cultural events make Kraków a perfect place to combine science with heritage.
AGH University of Krakow
Founded in 1919, AGH University of Krakow is one of Poland’s leading technical universities. It is recognised for high-quality research across many fields of science and engineering. Biomedical engineering is a strong part of that tradition. Research groups at AGH work on biomaterials, tissue engineering, biomedical signal and image processing, and artificial intelligence in medicine, which are the areas at the heart of PCBBE.
